Invasion

“Don’t write on the faculty website that Putin is a fool and everything will be fine.”

“Notes from the Underground ” is a project about scientists who want to be heard but not discovered. You can hear their voices in the podcast “Invasion: Science in a Time of War”. T-invariant editors verify all informants and are responsible for published testimonies. The Notes present a horizontal cross-section of Russia’s scientific and educational community in a situation of war and repression. They include the voices of capitals and regions, naturalists, mathematicians, social scientists and humanitarians, men and women, people of different ages and academic statuses. Listening to them, you can compare the testimonies of our informants with what you yourself know and think about the fate of Russian science.

In episode 12 of the podcast Invasion: Science in a Time of War, two scientists talk anonymously about how difficult it is to leave Russia, how internal emigration helps them keep their sanity, why they can no longer discuss the war with colleagues, the difficulty of understanding the true position of the leadership, and what they think about the turn of Russian science to the East.
