“Patriotic Notes” is a project about scientists who want to be heard but not discovered. You can hear their voices in the podcast “Invasion: Science in a Time of War”. T-invariant editors verify all informants and are responsible for published testimonies. The Notes present a horizontal cross-section of Russia’s scientific and educational community in a situation of war and repression. They include the voices of capitals and regions, naturalists, mathematicians, social scientists and humanitarians, men and women, people of different ages and academic statuses. Listening to them, you can compare the testimonies of our informants with what you yourself know and think about the fate of Russian science.
In episode 13 of the podcast “Invasion: Science in a Time of War”, two scientists talk anonymously about how it is possible to meet fellow travellers at the “Noon Against Putin” rally even in an Orthodox church, why teachers are afraid of denunciations from students, and how to maintain a rigorous professional level when social sciences and humanities in Russia have been set back twenty years.
