Details: ASEEES is an American learned society. The Association is dedicated to the study and dissemination of knowledge about the history, politics, culture, and social life of the former Soviet countries, as well as the countries of Eastern and Central Europe. ASEEES has approximately 3,000 members, and 60 member organizations from around the world. The Association’s annual convention is one of the most representative international platforms in the field of Slavic studies. The designation of ASEEES as “undesirable” has made it virtually impossible for Russian scholars to participate in the Association’s work and conventions.
