On June 26, 2023, the Moscow City Court sentenced Valery Golubkin to 12 years in a maximum security prison. The trial took place behind closed doors, since the materials of the criminal case are classified. The scientist insisted on his innocence.

Update September 25, 2023: The first appellate court of general jurisdiction recognized as legal the sentence of MIPT professor Valery Golubkin, who was sentenced to 12 years in prison for treason, RIA Novosti reports.
