Summary: The Russian Ministry of Justice has added the Mobile Academy for Gender Democracy and Peacebuilding (Mobile Academy for Gender Democracy and Peacebuilding) to the register of “undesirable” organizations. The goal of the project is to develop civil society, gender democracy and peace. The organization carries out political and educational work in Germany and on the world stage.

Details: Legislation on “undesirable” organizations has been in effect in Russia since 2015. Being included in the register of “undesirable” organizations means that the organization is prohibited from operating in the country, and Russian citizens are prohibited from cooperating with it under threat of criminal prosecution. As of March 31, the Ministry of Justice register contains a total of more than 150 undesirable organizations.
