Summary: On July 12, a judge of the Vyborg District Court of St. Petersburg found Alferov University graduate student Vladimir Mironov guilty under articles on hooliganism with the use of weapons and “discrediting” the army and sentenced him to 4 years of imprisonment in a general regime penal colony, reports Memorial PZK with reference to “Mediazona“.
Details. According to the prosecution, on February 26, 2023, Mironov arrived at the military registration and enlistment office building “grossly violating generally accepted norms of behavior, motivated by political, ideological hatred and enmity, as well as hatred towards servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, caused by his failure to accept the state’s foreign policy to conduct a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine, using a wrench, he deliberately struck the glass of two windows on the first floor of the military registration and enlistment office building five times, breaking them, thereby creating noise and causing property damage in the amount of 25,000 rubles”, and also “using a pre-prepared can of black paint, he applied inscriptions expressing an opinion about the SVO to the facade of the military registration and enlistment office building. These criminal actions resulted in damage to the property of the military registration and enlistment office in the amount of 6,600 rubles.” Vladimir Mironov wrote on the wall of the military registration and enlistment office “No to war”, “Stop killing” and “How much more can you kill?”.
Mironov partially admitted guilt and compensated for the damage caused.
