Summary: On December 16, 2024 the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Court received the case of 39-year-old resident of the city of Sarov Dmitry Kizhmenev under articles on document forgery (part 4 of article 327 of the Criminal Code), attempt to leave Russia despite restrictions due to access to state secrets (part 3 of article 30, part 1 of article 283.2 of the Criminal Code) and treason (Article 275 of the Criminal Code), reports Mediazona.

Details: According to Mediazona, Kizhmenev worked at RFNC-VNIIEF (Russian Federal Nuclear Center – All-Russian Research Institute of Experimental Physics), located in Sarov. The main focus of the founded center is the development and production of nuclear weapons.
On August 18, 2023, the Nizhny Novgorod District Court placed Kizhmenev under arrest. After that, Kizhmenev was transferred to Moscow. In December last year, as well as in February and May of this year, Kizhmenev’s arrest was extended in the Lefortovo District Court of Moscow. At that time, the charges only included an article on forgery of documents (part 4 of article 327 of the Criminal Code).
