Summary: A crim­i­nal case was opened against math­e­mati­cian Azat Miftakhov, who in 2021 was sen­tenced to six years in a penal colony on charges of break­ing a win­dow in a United Russia office, for jus­ti­fy­ing ter­ror­ism (Article 205.2 Part 1 of the Criminal Code). On 17 August, Rosfinmonitoring added Miftakhov to the reg­is­ter of ter­ror­ists and extrem­ists. At that time it was not offi­cial­ly report­ed under which arti­cle the math­e­mati­cian was charged.
