Summary: On June 5, 2024, the editor-in-chief of the Petersburg Theatre Magazine Marina Dmitrevskaya was fired from RGISI after being fined for “discrediting the army.” She was charged with an administrative case for “discrediting the RF Armed Forces” and fined 30,000 rubles, Groza reports.

Details: Literary scholar Nikolai Podosokorsky published an open statement from Dmitrevskaya on his Telegram channel. In it, she says that today she was summoned to the rector’s office, where they read out the rector’s order to dismiss Dmitrevskaya “for the commission by an employee performing educational functions of an immoral offense incompatible with the continuation of this work.” As noted in the statement, RGISI Rector Natalya Pakhomova has already sent out an order throughout the institute not allowing Dmitrevskaya to work with students. In connection with this, she decided to sue the university.
